Gluten Free Pizza at Left Coast Pizza

-Gluten Free pizza is available in the large size only at this point. As the word gets out, we hope to offer other sizes in the future. The dough is gluten free and all toppings are also gluten free.

 

-Cross Contamination: Every effort is made to avoid cross contamination; however, since gluten is present in our kitchen, we cannot guarantee that your pizza is 100% gluten free. The dough is made first in the morning before the surface is contaminated with gluten. Separate holding bins are used for the dough and a separate area is utilized to place the dough on the pizza pan. We encourage your feedback on our pizza.

-Why Gluten Free Pizza?

Some people are allergic to or have an intolerance to wheat or gluten. In addition to people who avoid gluten for these reasons, people with celiac disease must follow a strict gluten free diet as it is the only form of treatment for this autoimmune disease. Celiac disease is one of the most common chronic health disorders in western countries. It affects 3 million Americans or aout 1 in 133 people; however only 1 in 4,700 is ever diagnosed. This is more than epilepsy (2.8 million), crohns disease (500,000), ulcerative colitis (500,000), multiple sclerosis (333,000), and cystic fibrosis (30,000).

 

While following a gluten free diet is essential to celiacs, this diet may also help a variety of other conditions including dermatitis herpetiformis, psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, HIV enteropathy, and schizophrenia.
